Rezvani RR1: The Retro-Inspired Porsche 911 Reinvented for the Modern Era
Rezvani, best known for building extreme military-style SUVs and performance machines, has now turned its attention to one of the most iconic sports cars in the world — the Porsche 911. Through its new Rezvani Retro division, the company has unveiled the RR1, a limited-production, retro-inspired reimagining of the modern 911 that blends timeless design with contemporary engineering.
Unveiled ahead of Monterey Car Week, the RR1 is not a restored classic, but rather a brand-new Porsche 911 transformed with bespoke bodywork, interior upgrades, and performance tuning. Only 50 examples will ever be built, ensuring exclusivity.
Retro Styling Meets Modern Engineering
At first glance, you might mistake the Rezvani RR1 for a fully restored vintage 911 from the golden age of sports car racing. However, under its retro skin lies the heart of a modern Porsche, meticulously reworked to evoke the past.
The front fascia has been completely redesigned with classic-style headlights, a custom grille, and black air intakes inspired by legendary racing 911s. The example revealed features a Martini Racing-inspired livery, finished in crisp white with bold blue and red stripes, along with racing number “1” graphics on the hood and doors.
Custom aero wheel covers in bright red not only enhance aerodynamics but also nod to vintage race car aesthetics. The transformation continues at the rear, where all-new quarter panels flow into a large fixed rear wing. A redesigned bumper, diffuser, and exhaust system complete the aggressive yet nostalgic look.
A Cabin Blending Luxury and Motorsport Heritage
Inside, Rezvani Retro has gone beyond surface-level changes. The RR1’s cabin features a new flat-bottom steering wheel, blue-and-red cloth seat inserts, and premium carpets. Two analog Tag Heuer timepieces are integrated into the dashboard — a rare and elegant touch.
A polished wooden gear knob brings an old-school rally feel, while a bespoke dashboard plaque signifies the car’s limited-production status. These details work together to create an interior that’s both exclusive and deeply connected to motorsport heritage.
Two Versions, Two Power Levels
Rezvani is offering the RR1 in two distinct versions:
- RR1 600 – Based on the Porsche 911 Carrera T, powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six delivering 600 hp to the rear wheels. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual, 7-speed manual, or PDK automatic transmission.
- RR1 750 – Based on the Porsche 911 Turbo S, featuring a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six producing 750 hp with all-wheel drive and a PDK gearbox as standard.
Pricing and Exclusivity
The RR1 conversion starts at $195,000, and that’s before the cost of the donor Porsche 911. Considering the bespoke craftsmanship, retro styling, and extreme rarity (just 50 units worldwide), it’s a collector’s dream for those who want a one-of-a-kind blend of modern performance and vintage style.
Rezvani’s Vision for the RR1
With the RR1, Rezvani isn’t trying to compete directly with restomod legends like Singer — instead, it’s carving its own niche, offering a unique mix of retro race car vibes with the driving dynamics and reliability of a modern Porsche. It’s a fresh take on an icon, aimed at enthusiasts who want something truly different yet deeply rooted in Porsche heritage.
