  • TFT display with navigation and connectivity

Jawa 730 Twin: All you need to know

The 730cc parallel-twin engine represents Jawa’s most sophisticated powerplant yet, developed in collaboration with Swiss engineering firm Suter – renowned for its Moto2 racing success. This liquid-cooled unit produces 75hp at 8,200rpm and 68Nm at 7,100rpm, positioning it as a strong contender against premium European middleweights like the Triumph Speed Twin 900 and Ducati Scrambler Icon. The engine joins Jawa’s existing 750cc lineup that includes retro, racer, and tourer variants available on their global website.

Styling blends classic Jawa DNA with contemporary cafe racer aggression. The prominently raked-out front end features a distinctive round headlamp reminiscent of Jawa’s golden era models seen in India. A single-piece seat with integrated LED tail-light creates a purposeful look, while the swingarm-mounted number plate holder adds a clean, minimalist rear profile. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, wrapped in appropriately sized rubber for agile road performance.

Suspension duties are handled by premium components: a KYB USD fork up front paired with a monoshock at the rear, ensuring composed handling. Braking confidence comes from twin Brembo calipers at the front – a segment-first feature that underscores the bike’s premium positioning.

Modern connectivity defines the cockpit experience. A TFT display serves as the command centre, offering navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, and ride data. This tech-forward approach aligns with European market expectations while maintaining Jawa’s classic character.

The Jawa 730 Twin is scheduled for launch at the Motosalon trade fair in Brno, Czech Republic, next month. Pricing and exact market availability remain unconfirmed, though it targets premium buyers in Europe and select global regions.

India launch possibility: Unlikely. The 730 Twin originates from Jawa Moto in the Czech Republic and has no connection to India’s Classic Legends-built Jawa lineup (42, 350, Perak). These Indian models are locally engineered under licensing for price-sensitive buyers and different market needs. The premium pricing, advanced hardware, and European homologation make the 730 Twin unsuitable for India.

The Jawa 730 Twin reinforces the Czech brand’s premium European revival while Indian buyers continue enjoying affordable classics from Classic Legends. Global Jawa enthusiasts have a sophisticated new option, but Indian roads will stick with familiar 300-350cc territory.
